★ The Founding Seat
Every club worth belonging to knew one thing from the first day: how many lockers it had. Ours is ten thousand, №001 through №10,000, and Founding is the only way through the door while it is still open.
Your Register number is issued privately and sits beside your word in the room the way a locker plate does. It rides with the seat: hold the seat and it is yours everywhere the club goes, and give the seat up and the number goes with it.
The rate you join at is the rate you keep: $360 a year, for as long as you hold the seat. Later cohorts step up. You never do. It is the oldest privilege in club life, written into the books.
From №501, every applicant needs a member's name behind them. Cohort I walks in on its own record. Your golf and your references carry you. That door closes with the cohort.
The private calendar (the dinners, the weekends, the invitational golf that never posts publicly) and reciprocal play at clubs you could not book alone. Founding stands first on every list the club will ever draw up.
Bespoke capsules, made in small numbers. Scratch gets the door; Founding gets member pricing and first sight, each one seen before anyone else knows it exists.
When the Register is full it stays full, and precedence is already written: ten thousand names, yours among the first, vouched, numbered, and in the book before the door shut.
